Nomineer NU jouw kandidaat / Nominate your candidate NOW #MIR2019

Nominate your candidate for the Most Influential Recruiter 2019 Now!

(Don’t speak or read Dutch? No panic, just scroll down for the English version)

Update 20 december 2019: It’s no longer possible to nominate a recruiter – Het is niet langer mogelijk iemand te nomineren.

2. 6 Partners in 2020

Nomineer hem of haar! Let’s go!

Timeline MIR 2019:
21 november 2019: Kick off van #MIR2019 tijdens Recruitment Tech Event
21 november 2019 – 19 december 2019 middernacht: Nominatieronde

The English version

For the fourth year in succession, the nomination for the “Most Influential Recruiter” will be kicked off this year during the Recruitment Tech Event – #RTE19 – to be held on Thursday 21 November in the Amsterdome, Amsterdam. And it’s our 11th edition already!

Who will be the successor this year to Monique de Jong – winner of the Jury Prize – and the #MIR2018? And which talent will be able to convince the jury in 2019 as eloquently as Lina Kucinskaite did in 2018?
And we mustn’t forget the People’s Choice Awards! Who will follow Michelle Thijss, People’s Choice in 2018 and winner in the Agency category? In 2018 it was Bryan Peereboom who won in the Corporate category – who will that be in 2019? And who will succeed Tessa de Jong in the Interim category? And who will be the new talent of 2019, a title that went to Sven Zegers of Personato last year.

But the burning question on everyone’s lips is: who will be the first ever winner in the new category of Recruitment Marketing / Employer Branding?

The five video questions to the nominees will again be part of the process. And just like last year, we will be helping them to excel in this. Well actually, not just with the videos but with something else! Curious to know more? Click through to find what we’ve got in store this year!

Once again, this year we will be keeping the nominations separate from the election itself. The election will start, as always, at the end of the year, on 20 December. We will use SurveyMonkey as a tool to nominate candidates from 21 November, and from 20 December to vote.

But there are more changes planned this year! No less than 7 in fact!

1.In 2020 – for the very first time – a true Award Event!

We were of course delighted to be able to announce the Jury winners during the New Year’s reception at Recruiters United. But in view of all the hard work we have seen this past year, we consider that our nominees deserve to be the main act rather than a side show. Which is why we are organising a full-blown Award Event on Friday 31 January 2020, where both Jury winners and People’s Choice winners will be put in the spotlights.

This “by invitation only” Award Event will take place in the coach house of Huize Frankendael, where the Ronde Tafel with the winners has traditionally been held. For the Award Event, invitations have gone out to all the winners from the last ten years, the 2019 nominees plus guest, the jury, the notary, and our partners with their guests. More about our partners later. So if you find yourself nominated, be sure to keep the afternoon of 31 January free

2. Six partners in 2020

Of course, such a fantastic Award Event is only possible with the help of a number of partners in our wonderful branch, who wholeheartedly support the election. These are the proud companies:
– Cammio, sponsor of the overall awards
– Carerix, sponsor of the Agency Recruiter Award
– Compagnon, sponsor of the Interim Recruiter Award
– Independent Recruiters, sponsor of the Corporate Recruiter Award
– Talmark, sponsor of the newly-founded Recruitment Marketing Award
– WeAreKeen, sponsor of the Recruitment Talent Awards
Many thanks to Walter Hueber, Reinald Snik, Frank Roders, Olfertjan Niemeijer, Ricardo Risamasu and Doeke Geertsema for your support

3. Introduction of a new category: Recruitment Marketing

It won’t have escaped your notice that more and more people in our wonderful profession are specialising in Recruitment Marketing, Employer Branding and Labour Market Communications. Which is why the instigators decided it was time to create a separate category for this specialism. So if you’re really pleased with your recruitment marketeer, EB specialist or LMC expert, then nominate him or her in this category

4. This year a truly bilingual election

Considering the increasing number of English-language recruitment professionals in the Netherlands, this year we want to involve our English-language co-professionals as much as possible. Because who would dare to claim that the best people in the Netherlands in our profession must have Dutch as their native language?! In other words, if you know an outstanding English-language recruiter who is active in the Dutch market, then nominate him or her! All the forms (both for nominating and for voting), this blog post, the press release and the video questions will also be made available in English. What are you waiting for?

5. Changing of the guard in the professional jury

This year, the jury has been reduced in numbers because the permanent jury member Marco Hendrikse now also works for Artra, as does Ellen van Hierden, who was appointed jury member last year. I think you’ll agree that two jury members from Artra is too much of a good thing. Thank you for your invaluable contribution last year, Ellen!
As a representative of the winners of the prize, Monique de Jong (winner in 2018) takes over from Tamara Rood in the jury this year. Thanks to Tamara for your expert assessment in 2018!

The professional jury will now consist of:
Gusta Timmermans, chairman of Recruiters United and founder of Recruitment Builders
Marco Hendrikse, Marketing & Content manager at Artra
Monique de Jong, jury prize winner 2018
Ronald van Driel, Recruitment teacher at the Academie voor Arbeidsmarktcommunicatie and founder of Recruitment Accelerator

6. Training course for the nominees with extra module ‘Waging a campaign’

The training course in using the video-interview platform Cammio was very well received last year by the nominees. In collaboration with our partner Cammio, the video platform on which the nominees answer the five questions from the jury, we will be organising a training course for all nominees on 9 December 2019. Just so that everyone gets the opportunity to convince the jury, in terms of content and form.

ATTENTION: To ensure a level playing field, everyone will have to answer the questions on the video platform this year. Videos submitted separately will not be accepted. The election will therefore now be even fairer.

Since the organisers of the election were pleasantly surprised by the creativity of the campaigns demonstrated by all the nominees last year, we advise the nominees to channel all their imagination into their campaign, and simply focus on content when it comes to the video questions.

And we will also be helping the nominees wage their campaign. On 9 December, Michael Raven, Communications Specialist with our partner Talmark (and singer-songwriter?!), will be training the nominees. So at the end of the day, they will be ready to answer the video questions in a professional manner. And to wage their campaign. So if you’re one of the nominees, keep the afternoon of 9 December free!

Why did we decide to use video? Two reasons.
1. Because it enables everyone to participate, not just the recruiters with a huge back office that can work on a big case.
2. And it makes it possible for all the nominees to showcase their quality during the election, and not just the winners after the completion of the Ronde Tafel.
The answers on video will be made available to both the public (in the voting form) and the jury so that they can use them to base their choices for their (category) winners.

What are the five questions?
1. What was your biggest recruitment success in the past year?
2. What was your most important recruitment innovation last year?
3. What have you done in the past year to keep up to date with developments in your field?
4. In what ways have you shared your knowledge of your profession in the past year, inside and outside your company?
5. What do you consider to be the most important recruitment trend for 2020?

7.The timing

This year we’ll be giving the nominees even more time to answer the video questions. So they won’t be able to use a lack of time as an excuse. And it means that all the nominees can go for the People’s Choice Award as well as for the Jury Prize. We understand that nominees are often confronted with a stressful end-of-year sprint and that they will need peace and calm to record their videos. And because the announcement isn’t until 31 January, the voting round will run through till midnight on Wednesday 29 January 2020. Here’s what the timeline looks like:

Timeline MIR 2019:
21 November 2019: #MIR2019 kick-off during Recruitment Tech Event
21 November 2019 – 19 December 2019 midnight: Nomination round
9 December 2019: Training for all persons nominated by Cammio and Talmark at WeAreKeen
20 December 2019: Start of the campaign by the nominated
20 December 2019 – 29 January 2020: Voting for the People’s Choice Award
16 January 2020 midnight: Deadline for submitting answers to the video questions
17 January 2020 – 29 January 2020: Assessment of the video questions by the jury and jury meeting
31 January 2020: Award Event including announcement of the winners

And now, get nominating!
How? By submitting the nomination for your recruitment hero or heroine in our SurveyMonkey questionnaire. You can do this by clicking on the big green button above or below this article. That will take you straight to the questionnaire on SurveyMonkey.

ATTENTION
For a valid nomination, submit the following information about the nominated individual and yourself:
the first and second names of the recruiter,
– his or her LinkedIn profile,
– the category you are nominating the recruiter for (corporate, agency, interim, marketing or talent),
your motivation,
– and of course specify your own full name, function, employer and a link to your professional profile.

Scroll down in SurveyMonkey, because there are four (4!) questions! Remember: this is NOT a vote, but a nomination. Voting begins on 20 December. Via this link you can check the nominees in real time and see if your candidate is already present. We will regularly update the list with nominees in the article, so that you don’t need to submit duplicate nominations. The nomination process terminates as soon as the voting begins. So make sure you submit all nominations before 20 December!
